Hello everyone,
To speed up the process of Motan's Destiny being ready for RPing, I decided to ask anyone who wishes to reply a question. One of the features in the Motan Region is a sort of Battle Frontier like the one in Pokemon Emerald version. The only difference is I'm going to try to get 8 different competitions, put one in each Gym town, and they're going to be 8 different things, not all battles. I've come up with 3 so far; a battle competition, a maze, and a race. I'll take any and all suggestions as to what the other 5 can be.=) Thank you all in advance.

Well, there are more than one kind of race, there are races in the air, races on land, and races on water, so you have 3 right there under the catigory of races. You also could do a skills thing, where a trainer and one of his/her Pokemon work together to do a certain thing. Speed is not the objective, but quality of the finished product, but there would be a time limit. You know, if the task was to carve the likeness of a Pokemon out of wood, then the best likeness would win, not the one who finished first.(I know my example is not practical for RP boards, but it is simply an example)

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean about the race! One of my ideas for an adventure way before I made this site was to have a competition thing where Trainers picked three of their Pokemon for three different races, one for each race; one race in the air, one race on water, and one race on land. But since I have the Oceana Water Race I took the water race out of this competition and switched it to where Pokemon raced through a forest(the land race being where Pokemon race on a flat piece of land, with a few hills or obstacles possibly). And thanks so much for the suggestion! I'll definitely have something where a Trainer and Pokemon's skills in doing something like that are put to the test.^_^ Thanks again!

Here's an update for this search. Currently I have 7 out of 8 competitions.
Battle competition Maze competition Race competition Weight competition Skill competition Pokemon catching competition Sleeping Pokemon competition
Success! Not only did I remember the competition I forgot earlier, but I thought of another event! Just one more to go now.^_^

Hand to Hand combat competition? Trainer vs. trainer in a non-lethal match sort of thing? Just an idea. I don't think anyone will go for that though...
I think a competition where the trainers themselves are involved somehow would be a good idea. IE: An obsticle course where the trainer and pokemon must work together to complete it. Or perhaps pokemon trivia?

I was thinking of having some kind of quiz or something, like for the first competiton new Trainers had to take a test of some kind to see how much they know about Pokemon just as they're beginning. And no worries, I want the Trainers to be involved in these as much as possible.^_~

Trainer fight Pokemon, trainer fight Pokemon! ^0^
By the way, do you allow weapons for the trainers to have? I might edit Stamifrah's description a bit to fit his initial calling.

You liked Alora's story, didn'tchya? XP I'll consider having that. It's just something like this would take longer to confirm then a simple challenge sort of thing.
And yeah, you can have weapons - if Biotomi can have two Reverse Blade swords by her side(that she just carries for fun) if my fanfic, then Stamifrah can have a real one in this RP. However, you cannot kill anyone with it.

Aww, no killy willy? I guess I can leave that part of him for a while. So, I guess these swords are only for when there's a trainer/Pokemon fight, meeting Shina or on an unexpected 7 vs 7 match. And Stamifrah doesn't have his water clones either. Poopy.

Well actually it's pretty much an established rule that if you use yourself in a battle you can only use five pokemon. For a total of six battles.
I guess you could pull out your swords if you see me, but don't expect me to pull out mine for just anybody. I'm elite four, I have a right to be stuck up and refuse a battle. =P Just joking. Although I seriously can't fight with everyone, being elite four. It's an unwritten rule.
No killing. Got it. Pokemon = Anti-violence. We're technically not even supposed to HAVE swords so I can live with that.

Hmm.. Mika has weapons, but luckly she doesn't kill- often.. My bird guys don't have weapons so you'd wouldn't have to worry about more then an ice, thunder, or fire attack if you *I just tried to curse. Too bad I forgot about the forum sensors. Please report me to an admin right away.*ed one of them off..

I don't really get the point of giving trainers weapons. After all, what good is a sword against a creature that can implode your internal organs with a mere thought? Or one with metal skin who might feel pleasantly tickled by the blade, but nothing else?
If you're looking for something offensive, a pokémon is the way to go, IMO.

Touché. But armor that block's psychic waves and elemental swords or such would be good against such Pokemon. Or maybe even cunning. Just like in Skye's story for example, wearing a Pokemon out helps and distracting such Psychics would be better. Anti-violence? Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno destroyed a ship, Mew and Mewtwo nearly killed Ash, or have killed him, except he was revived, and Entei froze a whole town. Besides, Motan never had to be exactly like the TV show. Dude, 7 vs 7 match. Stamifrah won't appear too much so don't worry about him suddenly appearing and threatening your life..

Yeah, I thought about the metal stuff and such. But that's why you just have to get creative. Sure, it's more work, but it's also more fun. And for psychic attacks you coud have your character mentally trained to resist such attacks. It's been done before in other games and TV shows with similar attacks. And as for metal, every pokemon, no matter how well armored, has a weak spot.
And true, if you wanted to do something healiy offensive, hand-to-hand is not a good idea. But who said you can't work with your pokemon?
The only problem is that you'd be forced to dodge some attacks. Like snorlax's body slam. 0.o
What I mean is that it's always dulled down. You NEVER see anyone actually die, no matter what happens to them. And it always turns out for the better. Plus, you never see people fight. It's only the pokemon, who for some reason are immortal. It's like some happy little universe where meals and rooms are free and nobody ever gets hurt.

But that's why I like Pokemon, Alora; because no one dies and the world is full of happiness. The characters are funny and Pokemon are plain awesome. I know some people think it's so stupid how there's no destruction(aside from what Shinji said and some other things) and killing and any of that stuff, but they can't appreciate carefree and safe things like this. Me, I can, so I do.
