Gym Location: Pin City
Type Used: Psychic
Pokémon: Undisclosed
Leader: Derek
Age: 25
Bio: Short and somewhat hunched, one certainly wouldn't describe him as attractive. Despite this, however, he has a cheerful demeanor, and his blue eyes are alight with kindness and goodwill as opposed to bitter cunning. Generally his appearance is tidy, his black hair combed neatly, and he wears quiet, unassuming clothes to match his quiet, unassuming appearance. Despite his odd appearance he is a master of disappearance, able to easily blend into the crowd. He prepares to observe rather than participate, and is shrewd and cunning when he has to be.
Despite his geniality, Derek is a ruthless battler. His tactics are underhanded and he's a crafty opponent, to say the least. His pokémon are masters of deception and deceit, a diverse bunch but nevertheless effective as a cohesive fighting force.
Gym Information:
Battle Style: One-on-one, five pokémon total.
Layout:
The Pin City pokémon gym is known to some local residents as "the fun house." Past the reception area, it is walled entirely in mirrors, creating a confusing maze of reflections--and some things more solid than reflections. A trainer wishing to challenge Derek must make it through this maze before reaching the challenge arena, as Derek has no junior trainers. An attendant will heal a challenger's pokémon before they proceed to the ring.
The gym battle arena is a cold, austere place. Though the ring itself is brightly lit, the surroundings are shrouded in darkness. A marble floor with marble columns rising from it creates a chillingly beautiful atmosphere, and the highly polished floor gleams while the gilt inlays that mark out the proper arena boundaries and that crawl across the intricately carved captsones of the pillars, though these are almost lost in shadow. Above the hanging ceiling lamps that provide light to the arena is a black void. Who knows what lurks above?
