This is a short story I wrote about my character in the Elite Four. This was mainly to give my character some background and let you guys know a bit about her, since as an Elite Four member you won't exactly get to chat with her every day. Please tell me what you think. I love constructive critisim.

‘It was just a simple Pokemon match’ He thought as he watched the young 15-year-old girl duel with his Magnemite. ‘It wasn’t supposed to be like this. What is she thinking?’ Those same thoughts had been running through his mind since she herself had challenged his final Pokemon, his Magnemite. For some reason, when she saw her beloved Eevee fall, it had tore her apart inside. The small animal lay there in pain, and for a moment he thought she was going to cry. When she had drawn her sword, and told him she was to be his final challenge if he wanted to win this match, he didn’t know what to say. He had begged the officials to call it off, but she had only come in with four Pokemon, so it was technically a legal match. If he wanted to win the Viridian City Championship he had to use his Magnemite to try and render a human being - Shina Masurao - unconscious. He thought it would be easy. ‘She’s just a human’ he thought. But how wrong he was. She had refused to give up. At first she was sloppy, being hit time and again, but she quickly became swifter as she gained confidence in her own abilities. Every spectator and sponsor now sat at the edge of their seats, holding their breaths watching the battle of a lifetime: A person vs. a Pokemon in an official match.
Her gaze never left her opponent for an instant-her blade ready to counter any electrical blow the hovering sphere-like beast could emit. She moved swiftly and cunningly. Weaving in and out of the rocks and rubble in the arena in a strategical move no one could have seen coming. The Magnemite never stopped attacking. It would simply blast and blast and blast, only to shatter rock. She could see her opponent wearing down; tiring of the constant assaults. Now was her chance... She leapt between one of the highest mounds of rocks and her opponent, pitying the creature as it attempted to strike it’s opponent with a slow electrical pulse that was easily dodged. She moved out of the way before the avalanche of rocks could fall on top of her. Her opponent, however, wasn’t so lucky...
Shina smiled happily as she carried her trophy in her hand. Her faithful Eevee by her side, fully healed and just as happy as it’s master. She walked along the sidewalk blissfully before encountering the second-place trainer of the Viridian City Annual Championships.
“Why did you do it?” He asked, momentarily forgetting his manners.
“Do what?”
“Fight against my Pokemon like that. You could have been hurt, or even killed. Yet you still jumped right in the ring like some kind of suicidal samurai or something.” He said, still stunned at the outcome of the match.
She thought for a moment. Why did she truly risk her life for this trophy? Or was it more than that... When she saw her Pokemon suffer for her, for this stupid trophy... It made winning it so much more important. But she only now realized it wasn’t for the trophy...
“So that when I look in the mirror before I go to bed, I’ll see a person of virtue who stands by their friends no matter what.”
And with that, she continued walking, leaving a confused trainer in her wake.
