"Well, we shouldn't take anything for granted, so we should keep our guard up for the chance of this being a trap. As for it being an old tunnel, like for an addition to that irrigation tunnel or something, what would be so bad about it?" Joey said, afterwards looking at her feet encrusted with mud. "And also, what's with this mud? Would you say it's just natural?"

"Well the bad thing about it being an old tunnel is that it could collapse. And if any one of us become injured to the point of not being able to walk, then as harsh and cruel as this may sound, the other two would have to leave them behind. If you tried to help that person, you'd just end up dead yourself, which doesn't help anyone. And as for the mud, underground many springs and rivers run, and if it is an older tunnel any floor that was once here would have long ago been destroyed by various forces. Part of the reason it's so mucky is simply because of the surf you used to clean us off. And anything that wasn't natural was likely washed away. So for the moment, logic would dictate it's natural."

"Mega Meganium!" (I will never leave Silver!) Meganium loudly barked in response to the first thing Shina said. Silver placed his hand on Meganium's neck and rubbed her affectionately, but said nothing.
"Well if it is natural, this is unlike any cave floor I've ever walked in. Personally I prefer dry dirt, hehe." Joey replied.
"We're not getting anywhere talking like this. We should get moving." Silver added suddenly. After that he and Meganium walked on ahead, deeper into the tunnel.

(I had assumed we WERE moving and talking at the same time. But whatever.)
"I thinkw eall do. But Silver is correct. We must keep moving." She said as she made her way down the tunnel.
They kept walking for several hours, before coming upon a light source. They all jogged over to it and as Shina had thought, it led straight to the surface.
"Well it's a long climb, anyone up for the challenge?" She said as she scanned the walls with her flashlight. It appeared that they would need a boost to reach the support pillars wedged between the various parts of the ventilation shaft, but she had figured Silver's meganium could create vines or something to lift them up. Then they could climb the rest of the way. She hoped Silver brought Meganium's pokeball, otherwise it would be quite difficult getting the pokemon to the top.
She began to look for the best poitn to begin their climb when she noticed somethign odd ont he walls. Examining it closer she foudn ti to be a torch. It still had oil upon the end for lighting, which meant that either someone had been here recently or... She pushed that train of thought from her mind. No one would plan their arrival. It made no sense. She thought about staying while letting them go on ahead, but she needed meganium to get out as much as them.
"Hey, are you guys interested in exploring a bit before we leave? These torches" She said, pointing at the mounted torch ont he wall. "are fresh, so someone might be down here."

"As much as I love climbing, exploring's good." Joey said while she ed her knuckles.
Silver looked at the torches on the wall, thinking hard about who might be down here, but knowing there wasn't much at all to go on. The best thing to do was to look around to see if there would be any other clues. "Sounds good to me." "Mega me!" (Me too!)

"Alright then." She said, then continued walking, ignorign the torches. She didn't know if it was a trap or not, but she wasn't about to go poking a wasps nest and those flames would most certainly alert everyone nearby in the cave that there was someone here.

As Silver, Joey, and Meganium silently progressed through the tunnel, Joey thought to herself, "Whatever's ahead, we'll take it head on! I'm rarin' to go!"
Meanwhile, Silver thought, "This is really exciting. I hope we find some bad guys down here. I haven't battled for so long... Joey's probably raring to go, too." He concluded with a light chuckle.

As Shina walked, she pondere dthe archeological wonders she may find....and possible enemies. She was sure a few thugs would be easy to handle, but she wasn't so sure how Joey and Silver would do in close combat. Particuarly if it got down to hand-to-hand. She wasn't sure she could hold her own AND defend them at the same time.
They walked a little ways until coming to a light source. Shina causiously moved forward into the room and spotted anceint walls with writing all over them. The anceint text had likely been here for centuries. She ran over to it, astounded and momentarily forgetting about everyone else in the room.
She began to dust off the carvings and intricate ruins of the walls, and read the text as if it were english. She went on for a while, and when she came to one line, she gasped, dropping her flashlight. It hit the ground with a thud, and Shina quickly knelt and picked it up.
"No...way..." She said aloud. Turnoung around, she saw a strange girl who had not been there before standing at the entrance to the cave. Her purple hair sharly constrasted against her bright emerald eyes.
"Now do you understand?" She asked softly. Shina only nodded dumbly. And then the girl was gone.
From the confused look on everyone's faces, it was apparent that no one else had seen her.

Silver and Joey were looking around the room, unsure of what this all was. Joey walked up the one wall, and eyed the writings curiously. All of a sudden, she exclaimed, "Aha! Now I get it! It's a picture book! See, this one shows the Eiffel Tower, and over there, it's the world's biggest frying pan!" As she laughed over her joke, Silver walked over to Shina, noticing her strange look. Meganium was eying the entrance of the cave carefully, for she had sensed, something there just moments before. And what she knew, Silver knew.
"Shina? Is something up?"

"Ahh-nothing." She lied, not wanting to scare them. She knew that they knew there was more than 'nothing' but she wasn't going to lie either and it was the only excuse she could come up with. Besides, they couldn't make her say anything. "We should head back out. I'll have an archeological team come down here soon." She said, regaining her typical attitude.

Silver just turned around and headed for the exit, knowing if Shina didn't want to say anything, Shina didn't have to say anything. "Come on Meganium, we're leaving now. You too Joey! This isn't the only picture book in existence."
"Aw! But it was getting really interesting! The teddy bear was about to engage in the tango with a giant double bladed sword!"
Meganium's eye twitched as she looked at Joey, and Silver just muttered, "I'm not going to even ask..."

Shina wasn't sure if she should be offended at the teen taking this all so lightly, or laughing so hard her ribs hurt, but either way she kept her thoughts to herself as she and other others left the room and came back to the ventilation shaft.
Only to find one problem: Night had fallen and the handholds were barely visible.

(It doesn't rain here; the Underground Tunnels are a part of Isobe City, and it never rains there.)

(Hope that fact didn't ruin that much of what you had planned.=( )
"This could be a challenge..." Joey muttered softly.
"Maybe for a person, but Pokemon have better sight than humans. Couldn't we just fly up the shaft on one?" Silver asked, waiting to see what Shina thought of it.
